(April 10, 2014 – Bryan/College Station, TX)  The 24th and final home in Bryan/College Station Habitat for Humanity’s newest subdivision in Bryan – Faith – is finished.  The new homeowner, Tamona Scott, will receive the keys at a dedication ceremony this Saturday, April 12, 2014. April 12 is a busy day for Habitat, as another home will also be dedicated on Frankfort Street in Bryan. “I thank Jesus for giving us this,” Leticia Garcia, the new homeowner, said. “He knows that we’ve been through lots of hard times. I guess he feels like it’s time for us to have a better home. Only he knows when it’s the right time. And it’s time.” (Read more about the Garcia Family.)

The completion of the last home in Faith Subdivision marks the conclusion of 18 busy months of construction. The first home in the neighborhood was started in October 2012 and dedicated in time for Christmas that year. Now 24 families – and 58 kids – call Faith Subdivision home, thanks to tremendous support from this community. The Rotary Club of Bryan recently built the neighborhood a pavilion, and within a few weeks a playground will be built. A neighborhood block party is planned for May 17.

Join us as we celebrate the completion of Faith Subdivision and the hard work and dedication of these families.
