Contact Andy

Andy is a Bryan native, third generation Aggie with degrees in accounting and finance, and serves as our executive director. He and his wife Amy have two daughters, Abby and Audrey.

On staff since September of 2013, Andy’s introduction to Habitat started while attending Bryan High School. He donated land inherited from his grandmother for the first three houses on June Street, which, through the grand design of our Heavenly Father and the extraordinary efforts of many others, became Habitat’s first subdivision, Miracle Place. During college and afterwards, Andy also volunteered with his church, Christ United Methodist, during the construction of houses it sponsored.

After seven years in operations management at a local retirement community, Andy joined the staff at Habitat as the director of ReStore, shortly transitioned into the role of director of finance and is now serving as our executive director. Andy is excited about the many years to come of serving families in the Bryan/College Station area through partnerships for affordable housing.

Contact Charley

Charley joined BCS Habitat in March 2015 and serves as a loan origination and closing coordinator. Before Habitat, he served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in the Republic of Georgia at the Kutaisi branch of the Georgian Young Lawyers’ Association (nongovernmental organization dedicated to promoting human rights and rule of law) and his wife taught English at a local school.

Charley originally moved to College Station in 2008 to attend The Bush School at Texas A&M and study international affairs. His first experience with the nonprofit world was during an internship at the Embassy of the United States in Moscow where he worked on the religious freedom and human rights portfolios. Charley and his wife (who also works at Habitat) have served the B/CS community by teaching English as a Second Language and citizenship classes. They have a one year old daughter named Hannah. Charley enjoys working at Habitat because the mission is so rewarding and meaningful. If you’d like to know more about Habitat mortgages or how you can advocate for affordable homeownership in our community, please contact him at ccoats@habitatbcs.org.

Victor Gonzalez

Homeowner Relations Coordinator

979-823-7200

vgonzalez@habitatbcs.org

Contact Victor

Victor brings valuable knowledge and experience to our mission as our family relations coordinator. He understands the obstacles families face as new homeowners because he was the first Habitat homeowner for our affiliate. He and his wife Amelia purchased their Habitat home in 1990 and paid off their mortgage in 2012. Professionally, Victor brings experience working as a Concrete Materials Technician for Gessner Engineering.

Victor is so thrilled to work for this nonprofit organization because “Habitat shows God’s love to families in our community who need better housing.” After all, “this is what we are called to do.” Victor cites Mark 12:31 as the simplest explanation for the Habitat mission. The two greatest commandments we are given as Christians are to love God with all our heart, soul, mind and strength and to love our neighbors as ourselves.

When Victor isn’t building homes and hope in our community, he loves to cook for his family gatherings, fish, hunt, draw and paint, and sing and play guitar. If you’d like to hear about how affordable homeownership can positively affect a family, please contact Victor at vgonzalez@habitatbcs.org.

Ashley Burk

Development Coordinator

aburk@habitatbcs.org

Contact Ashley

Ashley Burk has been with the BCS Habitat for Humanity Affiliate since 2016. She came with a Habitat background and had previously worked as an AmeriCorps member at the Yakima Valley Habitat for Humanity affiliate and then went on to be a full time employee at the Waco Habitat affiliate.

She says, “I caught Habititis before I even started working with them! I have worked with Habitat for Humanity for all of my adult career. I love the idea that Habitat actually partners with families to better their own situation. A hand up, not a hand out. Housing isn’t just a place to live, it is peace of mind. If you are worried if you can make rent and utilities this month, worrying if your kids homework is done does not seem as important. If you are trying to bathe and put three kids to bed in a one bedroom apartment, a bedtime story might not be a priority. Being able to have a decent and affordable home affects all aspects of life. I hope to continue my career partnering with Habitat as they partner with families in our community.”

She has an adorable dog named Lucas that wears a bow tie every day.  In her spare time, she enjoys playing with him and doing some thrift store and flea market shopping! She loves to travel and has been to 7 countries overseas. She is a huge fan of good food and good friends.

She brings experience from her work as a Peace Corps Volunteer, English as a Second Language teacher and an assistant at Brazos Charities and ACME Glass.

“I joined the Peace Corps because I didn’t want to be ignorant of other people’s struggles. While serving, I experienced a hardship that many of my neighbors in Bryan-College Station face every day. Now that I’ve returned home, I am so happy to have the opportunity at B/CS Habitat to help provide safe, affordable homes to these families.”

Whitney is a Bryan native. She attended Texas A&M’s George Bush School of Government and Public Service where she met her husband Charles, who also works for Habitat. They have a baby girl named Hannah. When Whitney isn’t changing diapers or singing their daughter to sleep, she likes to bake and practice her Georgian language skills.
