Privacy Policy

Bryan/College Station Habitat for Humanity (“B/CS Habitat”) respects your privacy and preferences. This privacy policy (“Privacy Policy”) sets forth the terms under which you share your information with B/CS Habitat and how B/CS Habitat collects and uses your information.

This Privacy Policy applies when you make a donation, register for an event, purchase a product, or otherwise provide us with information via our website located at or in another manner, such as via telephone, email, regular mail, social media, texting, mobile applications, at a special event, in response to a solicitation or face-to-face.

Personal contact information collected; What B/CS Habitat does with it

Habitat for Humanity may request from you, or you may volunteer to provide, your contact information, including your name, mailing address, phone number(s), social media handles and email address(es). B/CS Habitat may, by way of example, use your contact information to:

  • Send you additional information about B/CS Habitat and its programs or events.
  • Process a donation or payment and provide you with a receipt or acknowledgment.
  • Clarify or obtain information about a donation or about information you requested.
  • Enroll you in programs, events or activities in which you elect to participate.
  • Manage your account and provide you with customer service.
  • Offer sweepstakes, contests, giveaways or other promotions.
  • Perform other functions as described at the time Habitat for Humanity collects information.

B/CS Habitat may share your information with service providers and other organizations that B/CS Habitat engages to provide services. When you sign up for a program or make a donation allocated to a program, your contact information may be passed on to representatives or designees of such program.

If you make a donation or a purchase, or otherwise provide your information, B/CS Habitat may contact you from time to time about opportunities to make additional donations or purchases or to provide information about services from third parties.

You always have the right to opt out of future communications from B/CS Habitat and/or service providers, either at the point of collection, as instructed in communications you receive, via the links below, or by contacting us by mail or email:

Credit card and billing information

In addition to your contact information, when you make a donation or purchase, B/CS Habitat asks for your billing address and credit card or other financial services information. B/CS Habitat uses a third-party banking agent to process your payments via a secured socket layer connection (TLS 1.2 using AES 256 encryption) to a secured server that verifies your credit card/bank information. They return a unique tracking number only, which cannot be decrypted to obtain the payment card information, and B/CS Habitat never retains your complete credit card number. Only employees who need access to your personal information to perform a specific job are granted access to that information, and B/CS Habitat and our banking agent will not share your credit card/bank information with any other third party.

Other contact information

B/CS Habitat may ask for contact information for people other than yourself, including, for example, names, addresses, phone numbers and email addresses of others to whom you send information or in whose honor or behalf you are making a donation or purchase. B/CS Habitat uses this information to send notifications or information you requested and/or to inform the recipient of your donation or purchase, as well as to contact the recipient from time to time to inform them of other opportunities and information about B/CS Habitat. Like you, the recipient will always have the opportunity to opt out of receiving future communication from BCS Habitat.

When you visit the Website, B/CS Habitat may store some information on your computer or device as a “cookie” or similar file (i.e., a small piece of datum that stores information on your browser in your hard drive). B/CS Habitat may use cookies to gather broad demographic and traffic information, to help improve the design and functionality of the Website. Cookies may also be used for “re-targeting” in advertising campaigns so that third-party vendors can display advertising to you about B/CS Habitat or other related entities as you use the internet.

When doing so, you may allow B/CS Habitat to access certain information from your profile (e.g., name, email address, photo, gender, birthday, location, list of friends/contacts, whom you follow and or who follow you, your ‘likes,’ etc.). When you provide information to B/CS Habitat through an application, on the Website, or on social networking platforms, it may be viewable by other users of these sites and, in such instances, B/CS Habitat is not responsible for, and cannot prevent, use of the information by third parties.
