Family Selection

Drafts the selection criteria and application forms for prospective homeowners, screens applications, interviews applicants and recommends applicants to the Board of Directors for approval as prospective homeowners.

Family Support

Selects, trains, and assigns volunteers for family support and provides Habitat homeowners and prospective homeowners with a mutual support system, educational opportunities and a forum for discussing issues pertaining to home ownership and maintenance.

Faith in Action Team

The Faith in Action Team will exist to cultivate, improve, and facilitate the affiliate’s relationship with local churches, seek Covenant Churches, and maintain ties to currently involved churches. One of the most appealing aspects of working with Habitat for Humanity is that building a house provides tangible opportunity to live out your faith. Giving your time and talents makes faith come alive. Strong feelings of community develop as people work together to plan and build a Habitat house, new friendships are created within the congregation and within the community. When the house is finished volunteers and homeowners feel a great sense of pride and connection with one another.

Property

Targets areas in which property is available at a reasonable cost or through donations, identifies and recommends property for acquisition by the board, arranges for the surveying and platting of sites to meet the construction schedule, and works with the construction committee to evaluate the suitability of potential sites prior to acquisition.
