In 2008, Habitat for Humanity International’s Women Build program launched the first National Women Build Week in partnership with Lowe’s.
Now in its eleventh year, this annual weeklong event invites women from all across the United States to devote at least one day to help families build strength, stability, and independence through housing. The event is held during the week leading up to Mother’s Day to reinforce the message that every woman can make a difference through learning and using construction skills.
This year, Bryan/College Station Habitat for Humanity participated in National Women Build Week for the seventh time!
On May 12, 2018, over 50 volunteers came out and helped paint and put up trusses on two of our current homes alongside Lowe’s Heros.
Lowe’s College Station also offered a how-to workshop on Wednesday, May 9 from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. Workshops are always free and open to all women.
We look forward to participating in National Women Build Week next year in May!
Please check back in for more details if you would like to participate next year.
