In 2008, Habitat for Humanity International’s Women Build program launched the first National Women Build Week in partnership with Lowe’s.
Now in its ninth year, this annual weeklong event invites women from all across the United States to devote at least one day to help families build strength, stability, and independence through housing. The event is held during the week leading up to Mother’s Day to reinforce the message that every woman can make a difference through learning and using construction skills.
This year, Bryan/College Station Habitat for Humanity will participate in National Women Build Week for the seventh time!
On May 12, 2018, over 50 volunteers will come out and help work on one of our current homes under construction alongside Lowe’s Heros.
Lowe’s College Station will also be offering a how-to workshop on Wednesday, May 9 from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. The workshop are free and open to all women.
To register to volunteer and/or participate in the Lowe’s workshop, email Madeline Zwicke, Volunteer and Community Outreach Manager, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
