October is behind us and with that is another successful Habitat Pumpkin Patch. We would like to thank all the churches that came together to make this year special with our first ever “Fall Festival”. We had games, bounce houses and free popcorn for everyone who came out. We would also like to thank all the volunteers who made this patch such a success. Volunteers helped unload and set up the patch, and during the whole month of October helped sell the pumpkins. Their time and effort were vital in helping Habitat sell more pumpkins.
A special thanks also needs to go to a special individual and a wonderful corporate partner–Connie Flickinger the Chairperson for Pumpkin Patch was especially generous with her time. When something needed to be done at the patch Connie was there, ready and willing to help in any way and BCS Habitat and our Faith In Action Committee are very lucky to have someone like Connie involved in our mission to provide affordable homes. Second, we want to thank our Corporate Sponsor Hillier Funeral Home for providing the use of their facility and hosting the patch. Kyle Incardones and his staff did everything possible to ensure this year’s Pumpkin Patch was successful, from securing the lot next to their business to helping with Pumpkin sales when we were closed. Lastly, we would like to thank everyone who came out to purchase a pumpkin from our patch. Whether you bought from our Bryan location or the College Station location run by Aggie Habitat, your purchases are helping to eliminate substandard housing right here in Bryan College Station. We appreciate everyone who came out and look forward to making next year’s Pumpkin Patch and Fall Festival even bigger and better.
