Finance and Administration

Andy York | Executive Director

Prior to working for B/CS Habitat, Andy earned his Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting and Master of Science in Finance from Texas A&M.
Andy held various accounting jobs before working in operations in senior housing for 7 years. After this time, Andy felt called to make a career change and use his talents to further the mission of Habitat for Humanity in Bryan/College Station.
When he is not working to serve our community, Andy can be found serving with other organizations such as BUILD Command Team, Sleep in Heavenly Peace, Workforce Solutions Brazos Valley, Bryan Noon Lions and Bryan Rotary. He also enjoys spending time with his wife, Amy, his two daughters and their family dogs.

As the new Director of Finance, I bring over 25 years of accounting experience and a passion for learning, growing, and supporting Habitat’s mission. Homebuyer Services

Mario Treviño | Director of Homebuyer Services

In the Spring of 2018, Mario began working with B/CS Habitat as a student worker while he finished his B.A. in Performance Studies at Texas A&M University. After graduating, he was invited to join our staff in August of 2018 as the Loan and Closings Coordinator. His hard work quickly earned him the title of Assistant Director of Property in 2019.
Mario believes that success is achieved through positively impacting the people around him, and aims to make others smile with each interaction. This has led Mario to work on obtaining ministerial credentials to be ordained as a pastor for his local church while he also creates music in his free time.
He is married to his lovely wife and is the proud “dog-parent” of two adopted chihuahuas: Finley and Caramela.

Charley Coats | Director of Government Relations & Advocacy

Charley earned his undergraduate degree from Clemson University and his Master of Science in Political Science from the Bush School of Government and Public Service. He then pursued his passion for serving others by joining the Peace Corps and working for a nonprofit legal organization in the Republic of Georgia. Upon leaving the Peace Corps, Charley knew that he wanted to keep positively impacting the lives of those around him. This passion led him to join the B/CS Habitat staff in 2015 where he began working to serve local families in need.
Charley enjoys spending time with his wife, Whitney, and their two children while building furniture and farming. He also volunteers with the Brazos Valley Coalition for the Homeless and serves as a Board Member with Texans for Housing.
Homebuyer Services

Mario Treviño | Director of Homebuyer Services

With a strong background in nonprofit leadership, Jorge has served with The Salvation Army and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, uniting faith, service, and community to make a lasting impact.
Bilingual in English and Spanish, he’s passionate about bringing people together to build not just homes, but hope. In his free time, Jorge enjoys spending time with his family, fishing, and sharing a good cup of coffee.

Julie Gurnon |Development Project Manager

Julie earned a B.S. in Journalism from the University of Kansas and went on to begin her Habitat journey as an AmeriCorps VISTA volunteer with what is now known as Habitat for Humanity Kansas City. She then served nearly three years as a Writer/Editor for Habitat for Humanity International in Americus, Georgia, reporting on Neighborhood Stabilization Program efforts in five states.
After this, Julie transitioned from working with Habitat for Humanity International to working on a more local basis by joining the B/CS Habitat staff in the fall of 2013 as our Development Project Manager.
In her free time, Julie enjoys curling up with a good book and loves to spend time with her cat, Romeo.

Richard Wilkins | Marketing and Communications Manager

As the Marketing and Communications Manager for B/CS Habitat for Humanity, Richard brings more than a decade of experience in marketing, branding, and photography.
A firm believer that the best roads aren’t always the straightest, he has followed a nontraditional career path through pharmaceuticals, the cable industry, photography, and color science, eventually finding his stride in marketing for global brands.
When he’s not crafting messages that build support for affordable housing, Richard can often be found behind a camera exploring the art of alternative photography, studying Spanish, or watching movies with his significant other, Jamie.

Construction

Aaron Shipp | Director of Properties

Aaron Shipp began his construction career while pursuing his undergraduate degree at Texas A&M. During this time, he began working at Bryan/College Station Habitat for Humanity to learn more about the field, and came to love the work that he did for others.
After his graduation, Aaron went to a Habitat affiliate in Midland, TX in order to learn different methods of building used by Habitat affiliates. With this experience, Aaron returned to the Bryan/College Station Habitat for Humanity in the fall of 2020 as the Director of Construction. In his role as Director of Properties, Aaron will bring his construction experience with him as he helps B/CS Habitat for Humanity manage properties for current and future partner families. He enjoys working alongside our partner families as they work to become homeowners, and leaves a lasting impact on those he works with.

Max Brooks| Director of Construction
Max Brooks began working at B/CS Habitat after a long career in the construction field. He believes that he was called to serve a higher purpose through the work that he loves, and this calling led him to join the Habitat team in June of 2022 as our Construction Manager.
In his position as Director of Construction, Max will continue to deliver as a construction expert.
Max also believes in overcoming obstacles while learning from those experiences. This mindset has allowed him to further his expertise in the fields of commercial and residential construction as well as other related fields such as carpentry, framing, and flooring.
While he is building homes with our volunteers and homeowners, Max enjoys learning new things and teaching others what he knows about construction. Off of the construction site, he enjoys spending quality time with his wife and three children.

I’m proud to bring my Hispanic heritage and bilingual English/Spanish background to my new role as Habitat for Humanity’s Community Engagement Manager! I’m passionate about connecting people with purpose and creating opportunities for volunteers, partners, and neighbors to make a real difference in our community.
Construction

Aaron Shipp | Director of Properties

I started as a BCS Habitat volunteer to complete sweat equity hours for the Habitat for Humanity Home Buyer Program in 2021. I became a Habitat employee in the summer of 2022 as a seasonal worker after completing my sweat equity hours. I now work part-time at the B/CS Habitat for Humanity ReStore and have worked full-time at an Elementary school in Administration for 13 years. I have two loving children that keep me busy all the time! I am a strong believer that God puts you in the right place at the right time. I love connecting with and meeting new people every day!
