On Tuesday, July 12th, players and staff from the Brazos Valley Bombers stopped by to help paint at the Fonseca Family Home on 28th Street.  Their day started early with a brief introduction and safety briefing from the construction team before the group divided in the house to work on painting the different rooms of the homes. Later the group started clean-up of the neighboring Perez Family Home, to help the weekday volunteers prepare to install drywall. Max Crawford from KBTX stopped by to give midday viewers a weather report and talk about the work the Bombers were doing with the Bryan/College Station
Habitat for Humanity.

We were honored to have the team and their staff come volunteer with Bryan/College Station Habitat for Humanity, however what should be most noted is the work the team is doing around the Bryan/College Station community to support and give back to local non-profits. Throughout their 2016 season, the Bombers have volunteered at many local non-profit organizations including BCS Habitat for Humanity, Brazos Valley Food Bank, and Keep Brazos Beautiful.  And we at Habitat for Humanity were happy to have the team out to volunteer.

Strike out

As part of their community outreach efforts, the Bombers host a profit sharing fundraiser for non-profits and other groups. On Thursday, July 21st, B/CS Habitat for Humanity will be at Nutrabolt Stadium in Bryan as the Bombers take on the Victoria Cavaliers to help Strike Out Substandard Housing. By purchasing a ticket before 6 p.m. on the day of the game through their group ticketing website, using password: Habitat16, a portion of the proceeds from the ticket will go to helping the Bryan/College Station Habitat for Humanity continue to give local families home, community and hope through decent and affordable housing.
