The BCS Marathon began in 2011 to raise money for Mercy Project, a local non-profit working to eradicate child slavery in Ghana. This year, the marathon is also supporting Voices for Children and Health For All. Here at Habitat, we believe in using the skills God has given you to help others. We commend these non-profit organizations for their work in our community.
Tomorrow, our staff will be serving the BCS Marathon runners at an aid station at Mile 25 (Full Marathon) and Mile 12 (1/2 Marathon). One of our very own is running the Half Marathon! Nathan Touchette will attempt to beat his previous time of 2 hours 6 minutes he achieved at the Plano Balloon Half Marathon.
Nathan hasn’t been training for very long, but he does remember one thing from his previous run… patience! Runners know that if you start too fast, you’ll run out of energy and ruin your finish time.
The rest of the staff is excited to cheer him and the other runners on to the finish line! Thank you Mercy Project for creating this event and thank you runners for supporting Bryan/College Station.
