On February 19th, Bryan/College Station Habitat for Humanity hosted its 16th annual Community Builders Breakfast. Recent College Station homeowner Melody Woodard received a well-deserved, standing ovation for her speech in which she explained how buying an affordable home with Habitat has helped her weather the ups and downs of life. Habitat guests also watched a moving video about Bryan homeowner Graciela Garza’s story. After Graciela lost her husband to cancer, money was tight. She rented a room from her pastor and shared a bed with her four children. She learned about the Habitat for Humanity homeownership program through her church and we partnered with her to build and buy a home that helped Graciela and her children thrive! You don’t want to miss this story so we’re sharing it with you here!
