B/CS Habitat for Humanity proudly announced nine winners from its second annual Lawn and Garden Awards on Saturday, September 7, in a ceremony at Tiffany Park in Bryan.

The awards program was initiated to encourage the over 230 Habitat for Humanity homeowners in Bryan and College Station to landscape and garden, beautifying their lawns, neighborhoods and communities.

Habitat staff and volunteers observed all the Habitat homes over the summer and selected three winners and ten honorable mentions.  With a beautifully kept yard, Victor and Veronica Casas won first place, followed by Stephanie Zapata in second and Jose and Esther Guillen in third.

All thirteen families received prizes and gift cards from our generous award sponsors: H-E-B, Chili’s, Keep Brazos Beautiful, Target, Jamba Juice, Lowe’s, Applebee’s, CVS Pharmacy and TAMU Extension Service Club.
